Rerelease of The Thrill of Hope

If you have started Revelation a time or two but were unable to gain the traction needed to see it through to the end, The Thrill of Hope can help. It won’t make Revelation easy (nothing can do that), but it will make it easier. It is an entry-level look at Revelation that puts the book in terms you can understand. There are reflective pieces that explain and develop its major themes, as well as FAQ sections that deal with specific issues of each chapter. You’ll also find an emphasis on what Revelation says to disciples today. In this revision of the original edition (2013), I haven’t changed anything in terms of my basic approach to the book, but hopefully I’ve clarified and cleaned up a few areas.

It’s my prayer that this book will help you to see the living hope that belongs to followers of the Lamb. It’s my impression that Revelation often isn’t pursued because it’s perceived as not being worth the effort. Unlike James’ letter, it is viewed as being of little practical value. Unlike the gospels, it’s not looked upon as spiritual. I can’t help thinking that in the end these objections say more about us than they do about Revelation. After all, while it may not be James or one of the gospels, God did see fit to give us the book! If we’ll patiently work through Revelation (and let it work through us), we will be blessed as its original readers were (1:3).

The Thrill of Hope is available through Spiritbuilding Publishing.
