I drive a truck. Sometimes I even think about life in truck terms. I was working with 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 and trying to come up with a paraphrase of it and . . . well, you can see for yourself what happened. Hopefully, it will be useful to someone.
Love has strong shock absorbers and comes equipped with an oversized kindness dispenser. It is not gaudy in appearance or obnoxious in the volume of its sound system. It doesn’t block the road or refuse to let others by. It isn’t constantly honking its horn or yelling out the window. Neither is it pleased at the sight of other vehicles on the side of the road with their hoods up or abandoned vehicles stickers on them. It is filled with passengers and wants to see everyone moving down the road of life. It has a heavy load capacity; it runs on trust; it operates on hope; and you cannot wear it out. It always starts on the first crank.
